Want to know the fundamental driver behind peoples need to ask whats-wrong questions? Its to conserve their ENERGY!!!
The further ones thinking style moves to the left on the above continuum, the more powerfully they are driven to ask whats-wrong questions (in order to avoid further depletion of energy, of course). One of our keenest areas of interest over the years at Clear Purpose has been our ongoing quest to discover exactly what is the best way to move people from any given point on this continuum to a point that is further to the right (and thus presumably healthier). Below is a brief summary of some of our conclusions.
Quadrant I
A person who resides in Quadrant I is the most seriously depleted of energy. From this depleted state, they tend to further exhaust themselves by searching for ways to avoid thinkingin order to avoid additional depletion of their energy. The only thing we know of that will move them to the right is for an authority figure to furnish them with a regular supply of whats-right questions that will force them to generate energy in spite of themselves.
Quadrant II
A person who resides in Quadrant II is significantly less depleted of energy. While an external supply of whats-right questions would be quite welcome and extremely helpful, they can easily recognize and readily embrace the benefits of building a habit of asking whats-right questions of others as the second-best way to build an internal habit of asking whats right questions of themselves.
Quadrant III
A person who resides in Quadrant III is the least negatively motivated by concern over depletion of energy, yet they are still conditioned to ask whats-wrong questions.
Quadrant IV
The fortunate few who live in Quadrant IV live with a natural state of child-like wonder that generates a self-sustaining surplus of creative energy. The further they move to the right, the more they rely on the holes in their vision to activate their powerful intuition and generate more and more productive insights.
